The Fox Terrier is a small black & white disturbance which afflicts and delights many a family. The Fox Terrier has straight legs,an active, expressive face, a lean well-shaped head, talkative eyes and a nose which leads him from one misdemeanor to another!
(Author Unk – from the American Fox Terrier Club book)

Some of you may have heard of the ‘Thin Man’ movies in the 30s’ and 40s’.  These movies also starred a wire fox terrier named Asta.  More recently, a wire fox terrier named ‘Wilson’ starred in a New Zealand lottery ad which won the Best Ad Award 2011 ‘Lotto Dog’.  These are the ads themselves (All 3 parts) and you can see ‘Wilson’ in action – click here to download and then select/click on  the file on your computer to view it. Enjoy.

Established in 1944, The Wire Fox Terrier Club of the Central States is the only club in the United States dedicated solely to the Wire Fox Terrier! Our members come from all parts of the country and gather every year for our specialty show in Ohio each May. We are breeders, exhibitors and owners of Wires and as WFTCCS members, subscribe to a strict code of ethics.  Many of us also belong to our “parent club,” the American Fox Terrier Club which promotes, protects and advances the interest of both Wire and Smooth Fox Terriers.  Our AFTC National Specialty show is held each October in Pennsylvania.

We welcome new fanciers and encourage you to learn more about us and our wonderful breed. If you are considering adding a Wire to your family you will find answers to many questions on our “Information for Prospective Owners” page. In addition, we encourage you to watch Wires at your local dog shows and to contact one of our very reputable breeders when searching for a Wire Fox Terrier.
